ode to magnolia woods

rocking slowly back and forth
in an old wooden chair
hummingbirds flutter a few feet away
singing their song to greet the day

bright green grass and oak leaves
are a blanket to the soft hill
magnolia trees and berry bushes
sprinkled across the field

the natural colors and scents
blend together thickly in the air
seducing all of my senses
as I sleep for a thousand years
